ISCP Webinar: Prominent Leaders Analyze Emerging Global Order

Leading international scholars and policy experts gathered for a special webinar hosted by the International Society for Peace and Conflict Studies (ISCP) to examine the significant shifts occurring in the global rules-based order and the emerging challenges to multilateral institutions and frameworks.

The webinar, organized in partnership with the Universal Peace Federation, brought together prominent voices from academia, diplomacy, and civil society to explore how the current geopolitical landscape is evolving and what these changes mean for international peace and security.

"In an era of profound transformation, we must reaffirm our commitment to dialogue and cooperation as the foundations of a peaceful global order. The challenges we face require not less multilateralism, but a renewed and more inclusive form of it."

Participants discussed several key themes, including the impact of emerging powers on global governance structures, the role of technology in reshaping diplomatic relations, and the growing importance of non-state actors in conflict resolution and peacebuilding.

The panel explored how traditional frameworks for international cooperation are being tested by new realities, including climate change, digital transformation, and shifting economic power. Speakers emphasized the need for adaptive governance mechanisms that can respond to these rapidly evolving challenges while maintaining the principles of sovereignty, human rights, and collective security.

Several panelists highlighted the critical role that interfaith and intercultural dialogue can play in bridging divides between nations and communities. They pointed to UPF's network of Ambassadors for Peace as an example of how civil society organizations can complement official diplomatic channels.

The webinar concluded with a call to action for renewed engagement with international institutions and a commitment to finding common ground across ideological and cultural boundaries. Participants agreed that the path to a stable global order requires both institutional reform and a deepening of shared values across the international community.

The ISCP regularly convenes thought leaders to examine critical issues in international relations and conflict studies, providing platforms for dialogue that bridge academic research and policy practice.
